How high is the demand for translators in Los Angeles?

October 29, 2009 - 5:12 pm 2 Comments

I want to become a Spanish-English translator, & I heard there is high demand. Is that true? Can you refer me to some websites of companies or freelance opportunities?

I would imagine the demand is quite high. You may inquire with either the city, or county of Los Angeles.

Or you may refer to a myriad of immigrant services, like this one:

yes all those immigrants with no English need someone to help them with banking etc and many don’t have family who can translate. The demand should be high in Texas where you are to but you need to be in a big city
Also hospitals need translators and government offices hire translators for Medicaid appointments etc.
I can’t refer you but i am sure you can find them in the phone book or maybe go to the Medicaid office and ask who does their translations then you can send them your application
