Below is a link to a video on youtube concerning a german mental calculator known as Ruediger Gamm. Having a whole translation of the video would be an instant 10 pointer though I particularly interested in what he is saying after he has provided the answer to 67 to the power of 33.

"P1 : OK, lets start with sth. moderate, lets say 62 / 167.
Narrator : Neuroscientist Thorsten Fehr from Bremen university has specialized on memory geniuses.Math genius Ruediger Gamm is his most spectacular case so far.
P2 : (says the number displayed)
P1 : Yes.For the 30 digits the calculator could display it was exact.
Narrator : Objects of research : rare special talents like math genius Ruediger Gamm.
P1 : Lets go on with powers (the mathematical meaning of power) again.67 to the power of 33.
P2 : One Dezillion.821 Nonilliards (not sure of that) 664 Nonillions, etc. (says the number displayed).
P1 : Well thats exact to the last digit.

P2 : I can make about 20 to 30 steps per second. Its automatical, and when I see the result, I see it as a string of numbers running in front of my inner eye (what he means is he visualizes that, not that he’s psychic).
(An average to bad middle school report card is shown, on the bottom it says "Nicht versetzt" = Not transferred to a higher class = he has to repeat a year)
Narrator : While in middle school, nothing indicated the superhuman math talent of Ruediger Gamm.Only after being 20 years he found out coincidentally that he has got this math talent. While listening to the radio, he outperformed with ease a man with impressive math skills featured on that radio show.
Gamm started to practice his talent.Today he can master powers of 50 of all 2-digit numbers, 8-digit trigonometric functions and the number Pi as far as 5000 digits after the comma. As a trainer of mental abilities, he currently counsels (german) Premiere League football teams and top managers on how to improve their concentration…(breaks off abruptly)
