Why google translator not able to translate arabic in english or in other lang? It says Type phonetically?

Why google translator not able to translate arabic in english or in any other language ?
It says that Type phonetically. but how can right it phonetically, though im just copying the arabic text from google translator but it shows this message.

Because the Arabic language is NOT based on the roman alphabet that we know as A, B, C, D, E, F, …..and on and on. There are a whole set of other characters. See here for a visual: http://www.foreverhh.com/images/islamic/arabicAlphabet1.gif

So even though these letters TRANSLATE to sound like A, B, C, D, etc. etc. they obviously do not LOOK like that—and therefore, you cannot type them in like that. And for that reason, because Google Translates relies on the A, B, C, D, etc. characters, cannot directly translate. …It says "type phonetically", cuz it takes in the sounds of the letters you type, and tries to translate those. -Which is actually accurate in a sense. So if you type out in the roman alphabet, what a word in arabic sounds like, google translate accordingly. ….Unfortunately, you’d really have to be a native speaker in order to understand if it’s being translated correctly (as a lot of words SOUND alike), and ironically, if you were a native speaker, you wouldn’t need google translate in the first place.

As a native arabic speaker, I do have to hand it to google.They really do a good job compared to most other sites. But again, you would need someone who knows a little something about the language in the first place, to discern it.

Anyhoo, that’s why it says "type phonetically", cuz ur keyboard is not equipped to type in the arabic letters. ….If you want to know something specifically, email me. I’m not a pro, but I’ll try my best to help.

Language translator on website wont translate flash banner?

I had a language translator for spanish put on my website and it wont translate items that I add from my content manager. Its an auction website. So when I add items I have to put in the spanish title and description myself. It also wont translate the flash banner I have on the site. It translates all the other static words on the site. Is this normal?

Of course. A program can’t read graphics.

Please not babylon. If it can’t translate a word it gives YIPE! as the translation and I don’t think the sentence reads "Why does the (daughter or child) say YIPE! when ??????????????? crying?" I am not sure what the multiple question marks mean either.
Babble Fish can’t do Hebrew, But it looks great for other languages!!

There are none that will properly translate languages. The best are REAL humans who speal the languages.
