How to become Spanish translator?

November 3, 2009 - 8:51 am 1 Comment

Anyone know how to get a job doing English to Spanish translation? A friend of mine was asking. What kind of qualifications do you need? How much does it pay?

Translators are a dime a dozen and get paid the same. A very good translator (let’s say, in technical matters) can make enough money to live on comfortably. One would need to demonstrate an excellent understanding of English and an equally excellent competence in writing good Spanish. There are schools that offer such courses, even universities. A degree encompassing both English and Spanish composition would not be amiss.

Help I need an Electronic English / Spanish Speaking translator Device?

October 29, 2009 - 5:12 pm 3 Comments

I need to buy an english/spanish spanish/english electronic translator that speaks. It’s for my daughter who is going to Mexico to meet her boyfriends parents. I would like to get her the best one I can find. Any suggestions? All help is appreciated.
I’m not trying to find out where to buy a translator I’m looking for information on which one to buy from someone who has one. Thanks

Electronic translators are a lot better than they used to be. If you’re interested in buying a good one, check out the ones reviewed on this page:

How can I volunteer as a spanish translator?

October 27, 2009 - 4:23 pm 1 Comment

Working from home? Maybe I’ll be noticed to get a job,
I’ m bilingual I believe I can do it

Well, If you just want to volunteer you can start right here, in YA!

I’m mexican and I speak both English and Spanish. I spend my time at YA! to tranlslate as many texts as I can from En-Sp Sp-En. I do it because i like it, so I think it is a good place to start.

Depending on your city, you can ask for job (volunteer job) in different places. Look for companies who need translations, and tell them you can do them for free.

They could email them to you, so you would translate it in your computer and send the translation back.

Good luck!

What is the best online spanish to english, english to spanish translator?

I am just looking for something that is accurate!!!

WordReference.com is very good… it’s not a translation site but rather a dictionary. But it has forums where real Spanish speakers can translate your text and includes all idiomatic pharses in its dictionary.

Babelfish and Freetranslation sometimes give you inaccurate (aka too literal) translations

What’s the difference between a Spanish translator and a Spanish Dictionary?

I need something that I can type in a phrase, not a word, but a whole phrase a sentence in english and it gives it back to me in Spanish.

This website shows a Spanish to English dictionary that looks like it’s a translator as well. Is that even possible?http://www.franklin.com/estore/dictionary/DBE-1470/

In a dictionary you can only search small words and sometimes compound words. You have to know the rest on how to make sense of sentences.

An online translator uses some computer algorythms to translate from one language onto another one, but it usually fails doing it correctly. Computers just can’t imitate the human mind, specially when it comes to languages.

The website you’ve provided is a dictionary, though it has some other interesting features: phrases, a verb conjugator and a small grammar guide. But if you put complete sentences you won’t get them translated.

plz link me to the best and accurate english to spanish translator website or software and plz convert this into spansh
"missing you alot, love you alot"
thanx
is this is correct translation of above
"perdido vosotros altamente, cariño vosotros altamente"

You can’t use those. They aren’t really able to translate contexts and proper grammer.
You have to kind of know the language to make the necesary corrections yourself…….

If you’re just trying to impress a girl,,, than it’s a good thing for you to ask people who know….. wouldn’t want you to make a fool of yourself………

"Te extraño mi niña ,,, Te quiero tanto"

You should use the translator on Dictionary.com. I doubt any translator is perfect, but it’s pretty acurate. =)
