hi i’m constantly doing french home work i wonder which web site has the best french translator

Google translate is OK but I often find that words are sometimes messed up and it is not all that accurate especially for more difficult languages. Instead, I started using the one found here http://www.translatenation.com/French.html which is also free. I finds it does a very good job and also comes with extra features I like.

I am looking for the best online free translator . I need to get some help on a short french Text to be translated into English . What do you recommend ?

My advice: don’t go for the online translation because they only do direct translation. they do not cater to the conceptual, textual and cultural meaning of certain words/ phrases/ sentences. find a native speaker, they know their own language better (synchronize chat is acceptable) Good luck

No offense but i would avoid repeating myself if i were u ("I hope you are having a wonderful time in France", "Hope you are having a great time"), it is something we avoid doing in French (much more than in English), repeating the same sentences is viewed as bad writing.

I am still hunting for a high-paid position as a top professional/senior translator (English/French and French/English) within an international mining corporations, banks, instititions, that urgently need such services. Do you know some in Africa that are looking for translators (French/English and English/French)???

Try getting some work for an Airport / Customs or even phone interpreter service. People within these places may have contacts for you, also

I took French 1, 2, and 3 in high school. At the most, I can take French 3 in this community college I’m going into (though I plan to transfer in two years). I want to be able to understand Spanish, too, however. Would it be possible to simply translate French after that college class so I can go straight into Spanish?

It is virtually impossible by means of high school and college study to reach the necessary level of skill in a foreign language to succeed in a career of translating it. You will be competing for jobs with people who have grown up in bilingual and bicultural households, who speak the formal and colloquial versions of the foreign language without an English accent and, who understand several accents and vocabulary variations of the foreign language.

How accurate would you say Google Translator is when translating English to French, or English to Spanish? I’d love answers from fluent French and Spanish speakers, cheers!

Translators have no chance whatsoever of getting it right if the original is not 100% grammatically correct and correctly spelt. Even then, translators do not understand idioms or context. For example, if you ask for the translation for "hydraulic ram" it is just as likely to give a translation meaning "aquatic male sheep"; if you type in an expression such as "I feel like death warmed up", it will probably give you an expression meaning "I want to die in a fire".

Conversely, I saw the Spanish expression "No sé nada de inglés" (I know nothing about English) emerge as "He does not swim himself of groins" – because the original writer had not put in the written accents.

The point is that to be sure that a translator is giving you a correct translation you have to be totally conversant with both languages so that you can check the results – all of which seems to rather defeat the object of the exercise….

It’s actually my friends playing around. She likes to pick on me in that way. If I really thought she was conceded, I’d probably tell her in English. And it’s over anyway, all fun and games.

Yep I notice that you were a liar. Anyway considering the time it takes you to translate I’m sure they already figured out that you were lying! Why do use such gross language for?

i watch the Simpson’s everyday and often watch it with my brothers. On thursday nights i watch skins because i think it is funny. Sometimes i watch a soap opera called hollyoaks. Sometimes i watch shameless but only if im not too tired.

my favorite type of music is rock because it is easy to dance to. my favorite band are enter shikari. i like them because they make very good music. i dont like pop because i find it annoying and boring. i also dont like rap because its too repetitive.
