Looking for English to Arabic Translator, but using English characters/alphabet for the Arabic text.?

January 25, 2010 - 7:50 pm 2 Comments

I have looked everywhere for a translator that will translate English into Arabic using English characters.
There are heaps of sites that translate English into Arabic in the typical Arabic text, however I can not read Arabic text.

Does anyone know of a site that will do this for me?

For example I want to be able to type in "hello", and for it to translate it into "marhaba" or "hala" or "ahalen" using these english letters.

If no site exists, then I am setting up a challenge for someone to create one. Being the only site in the world that offers this particular service, you will have loads of hits. All you need to know is both the Arabic alphabet and the English alphabet, and how to speak both. Then all you need is a big fat English Oxford dictionary on your lap and to enter the English word, it’s Arabic counterpart, and then how to spell it in Arabic using English characters. Pretty simple program. And if that’s still too hard just type it in Word or something and the user can do a simple "find in page" search for "hello" and it goes to where "hello" is written with it’s Arabic spellings next to it.

Try this site. There are many softwares of bilingual dictionaries to download freely, which mostly use only English writing system.
Hope it helped!

Hi
I am Iraqi Arabic linguist looking for employment. I speak and write very good English and understand English well. I have work experience as I have worked as a translator/interpreter with more than one company in Iraq. I have worked with MVM Inc. which. is a government contractor with international presence that provides Security, Staffing, Training, Translation and related services to US Government clients, I also worked with L3 Communications – Titan Corp. which is the main provider of Arabic linguists for the US military in Iraq, and my last employment was with MPRI which has provided national security, defense, and law enforcement customers within the US and abroad with professional services, specialized products, and integrated solutions for education, training, and operations. I am willing to work for organizations, military, agencies, or firms that have presence in Iraq and employ local Iraqi Arabic linguists.
If interested, please send email to stbaldawi@yahoo.com

Look into this program:

Double question. Danish and Arabic Translator?

December 30, 2009 - 8:30 am 1 Comment

Pretty self-explanatory, I’ve searched and searched for translators for Danish and Arabic but it is always so hard to find any. Really I’m just wodering if anyone has a suggestion of an online translator (not downloadable software or a translator service) that will translate English to Danish and vice-versa as well as one that can translate English to Arabic (preferably romanized, but either way) and vice-versa. If you know of one that can do both then awesome, but separate ones is perfectly fine.

Where can I find an online translator for Farsi or Arabic?

December 27, 2009 - 1:04 pm 2 Comments

I’m doing a presentation in my class on Modern Iran and I need an online site that can translate into Arabic and Farsi. Before anyone suggests it, Altavista’s Babelfish does not translate into either one of those languages.
This is the site I’m trying to translate: http://www.qudsday.org/Quds/

I wasn’t sure what language it was in. I’m assuming it’s Farsi but I honestly don’t know.

Only a very small population of the Iranian population (about 2%) speaks Arabic.
Arabic has no official status in Iran.

You can use Google translator http://translate.google.com/
But it’s translations are very inaccurate.
If you want accurate translations you can ask here and me or other people can translate for you.

EDIT: The link is not Farsi, it’s Arabic.
