Why google translator not able to translate arabic in english or in any other language ?
It says that Type phonetically. but how can right it phonetically, though im just copying the arabic text from google translator but it shows this message.

what to do ?

thanks

Because the Arabic language is NOT based on the roman alphabet that we know as A, B, C, D, E, F, …..and on and on. There are a whole set of other characters. See here for a visual: http://www.foreverhh.com/images/islamic/arabicAlphabet1.gif

So even though these letters TRANSLATE to sound like A, B, C, D, etc. etc. they obviously do not LOOK like that—and therefore, you cannot type them in like that. And for that reason, because Google Translates relies on the A, B, C, D, etc. characters, cannot directly translate. …It says "type phonetically", cuz it takes in the sounds of the letters you type, and tries to translate those. -Which is actually accurate in a sense. So if you type out in the roman alphabet, what a word in arabic sounds like, google translate accordingly. ….Unfortunately, you’d really have to be a native speaker in order to understand if it’s being translated correctly (as a lot of words SOUND alike), and ironically, if you were a native speaker, you wouldn’t need google translate in the first place.

As a native arabic speaker, I do have to hand it to google. They really do a good job compared to most other sites. But again, you would need someone who knows a little something about the language in the first place, to discern it.

Anyhoo, that’s why it says "type phonetically", cuz ur keyboard is not equipped to type in the arabic letters. ….If you want to know something specifically, email me. I’m not a pro, but I’ll try my best to help. :)

Would anyone be interested in a job as an Arabic translator?

i wasnt thinking of the religious aspects to this question, but like i said i need a translation so your answer is not of help to me.

but yea, i wanted the translation so thanks "Nobody puts a baby in the corner"
that was helpful . but may i ask where you got the translations? do you speak arabic?

The girl wants the Arabic translation, she doesn’t want a lecture on Islam.
Arabic and Islam are not the same thing. Keep to your religion and let others keep to theirs.
If you don’t wanna answer this question don’t bother, instead of giving religious advice.

To answer your question honey

I’m guessing you want the Arabic letters for your tattoo
flashing lights we write it like this اضواء اللمعان

and flicker like this الرجفه

You can translate Arabic to any language using Babylon with audio pronunciation, but it’s a desktop translation software, and you may need to install the corresponding speech engine. http://www.babylon.com/systems/af/landing/index.php?id=12042

Looking for English to Arabic Translator, but using English characters/alphabet for the Arabic text.?

January 25, 2010 - 7:50 pm 2 Comments

I have looked everywhere for a translator that will translate English into Arabic using English characters.
There are heaps of sites that translate English into Arabic in the typical Arabic text, however I can not read Arabic text.

Does anyone know of a site that will do this for me?

For example I want to be able to type in "hello", and for it to translate it into "marhaba" or "hala" or "ahalen" using these english letters.

If no site exists, then I am setting up a challenge for someone to create one. Being the only site in the world that offers this particular service, you will have loads of hits. All you need to know is both the Arabic alphabet and the English alphabet, and how to speak both. Then all you need is a big fat English Oxford dictionary on your lap and to enter the English word, it’s Arabic counterpart, and then how to spell it in Arabic using English characters. Pretty simple program. And if that’s still too hard just type it in Word or something and the user can do a simple "find in page" search for "hello" and it goes to where "hello" is written with it’s Arabic spellings next to it.

Try this site. There are many softwares of bilingual dictionaries to download freely, which mostly use only English writing system.
Hope it helped!

Arabic translator/interpreter looking for employment in Iraq?

January 23, 2010 - 11:58 am 2 Comments

Hi
I am Iraqi Arabic linguist looking for employment. I speak and write very good English and understand English well. I have work experience as I have worked as a translator/interpreter with more than one company in Iraq. I have worked with MVM Inc. which. is a government contractor with international presence that provides Security, Staffing, Training, Translation and related services to US Government clients, I also worked with L3 Communications – Titan Corp. which is the main provider of Arabic linguists for the US military in Iraq, and my last employment was with MPRI which has provided national security, defense, and law enforcement customers within the US and abroad with professional services, specialized products, and integrated solutions for education, training, and operations. I am willing to work for organizations, military, agencies, or firms that have presence in Iraq and employ local Iraqi Arabic linguists.
If interested, please send email to stbaldawi@yahoo.com

Look into this program:
http://www.goarmy.com/JobDetail.do?id=342
Currently the Army needs Middle-Eastern language speaking individuals to serve as Interpreter/Translators and help with the rebuilding efforts. Individuals qualified for this program will have an eight-year commitment.

Good Luck!
