I’m curious as to the translation of the text on Schindler’s gravestone. Also, where can I see a copy of the real list?

"In early April 2009, a second list was discovered at the State Library of New South Wales, Australia by workers combing through boxes of materials collected by the author Keneally. The 13-page document, yellow and fragile, was filed between research notes and original newspaper clippings. This list, given to Keneally in 1980 by Leopold Pfefferberg, who was listed as worker number 173, differs slightly from the other list, but is nonetheless considered to be genuine and authentic. It is believed that several lists were made during the war as the protected population changed. This particular list, dated 18 April 1945, was given to Keneally by Pfefferberg when he was persuading Keneally to write Schindler’s story. In the last months of the war, German Nazi camps stepped up their extermination efforts. This list is believed to have saved the lives of 801 people from death in the gas chambers. It was this list, taken with the surrounding events of the time, that inspired Keneally to write his novel"

I know how to say I like to cook, but I’m not sure how to elaborate on it as I’d like to. Any help would be appreciated, but please no online translators. It’s easy to tell if you’ve used one.

The sentence is: My favourite dish to cook is spaghetti.

Pirate has some mistakes. It’s not "zu kochen". "Lieblingsessen" is with capital letter.

The correct sentence is:
Am liebsten koche ich Spaghetti.

You don’t have to translate literally this kind of sentences. It doesn’t sound natural.

There is a translation competition I’m planning to take part in and I need to choose an English song to translate into French (because the audience would be more familiar with the tune than if it was a French song translated into English).

Basically the procedure of the competition is to translate a song or poem from English to French or vice versa and perform it in a way that is as creative as possible.

I’m thinking of using an English song that would make sense in French, without love themes or offensive words and is fairly popular so the audience will like it.

The song "I FEEL PRETTY" from West Side Story has been translated into about 50 langueages including FRENCH.. maybe that owuld be a start for you.

I want to become a translator for various languages, and am working on learning them while I am on a two year break from school. I am going to look up schools to attend later on, but I wonder if there are specific programs that I should get into in order to be a translator. I am also thinking of teaching languages as well in ESL programs, but that will come later and it isn’t my primary goal.

The TEFL test & certification is normally used as a sign of competency for teaching other languages… especially in formal university and big business environments.

I am in the process of building a site, and I want to have an English to Latin translator. It there an online database that I can have site visitors use via AJAX or do I have to create my own translation database?

I’m not sure whether there is a usable database, but I should warn you that, to my knowledge, there is no working Latin translator on the Internet. Latin and English are such very different languages that automated translators just don’t work.

I have an Irish Essay due that is on the education system. I’ve been looking for translating sites but none of them translate sentences. Is there any decent translating sites or is there none?

Google does a decent job. But its good idea to translate back into English just make sure they share the same phrases.
