I am Iraqi Arabic linguist looking for employment. I speak and write very good English and understand English well. I have work experience as I have worked as a translator/interpreter with more than one company in Iraq. I have worked with MVM Inc. which. is a government contractor with international presence that provides Security, Staffing, Training, Translation and related services to US Government clients, I also worked with L3 Communications – Titan Corp. which is the main provider of Arabic linguists for the US military in Iraq, and my last employment was with MPRI which has provided national security, defense, and law enforcement customers within the US and abroad with professional services, specialized products, and integrated solutions for education, training, and operations. I am willing to work for organizations, military, agencies, or firms that have presence in Iraq and employ local Iraqi Arabic linguists.

Currently the Army needs Middle-Eastern language speaking individuals to serve as Interpreter/Translators and help with the rebuilding efforts. Individuals qualified for this program will have an eight-year commitment.

I’m dying to learn to speak Japanese, so I’m trying to find a good English to Romaji translator, but I need to translate entire sentences, not just one word at a time. Help please? I will love you forever! <3

Find a native speaker of Japanese, that’s the only way because you’re never going to find a good computer translator. They just can’t handle translation period and especially not ones from languages as different as English and Japanese. And if anyone tells you different, they’re BS-ing you.

i knew one before but i lost it when i closed the window. i can’t remember what it’s called or anything.

I don’t know one "as you type", but if you go to www.dictionary.com and simply click on the ‘translator’ tab, that will help you. It has a lot of different translations, and all you have to do is click the little button and translate it. It works.

Is there an actual person who can translate english to french online for free. I don’t trust the auto programs

1. I am on the path to a career change. How can I switch from a Structural Engineer to a Translator/Interpreter (Mandarine-English). I’d rather not go back for another 4 years of university study.
2. I’d also appriciate anyone who can give me any idea about the pay. I understand simultaneous court interpretation cost more than, say, a translation job for a travel brochure. I am located in Toronto, but any big/median city info is appriciated.
3. What is the difference between being a member of the ATA or CTTIC and being licensed by these organization?

I need to write a letter to a potential client, but he speaks Spanish much better than English. I’m afraid that may be why he didn’t purchase what I’m offering to begin with- he may not have understood everything I was offering. I have Spanish materials to send him, but I really want to write a letter to go with it. I’m afraid of using an online translator for fear that it will be choppy and come out badly. Any advice?

Just use an offline translation service or a good dictionary, like you said, ALL the online "translators" (I wouldn’t even call them translators!) are utter RUBBISH.

Heavenlea is almost correct, but "top of the mountain" = Bergspitze..

so:

Ich klettere unterhalb der Berspitze. (This is idiomatic tho, means the same you wanted to say and sounds very natural.)

Depending on the context, it is translated as either…

I am: Yo soy/Yo estoy
You are: Tu eres, tu estás
You (formal) are: Usted es/Usted está
You (plural) are: Ustedes son/Ustedes están
S/he is: Ella/Él es / Ella/Él está
We are: Nosotros somos / Nosotros estamos
They are: Ellas/Ellos son / Ellas/Ellos están

I have been based out of Mumbai. I have been learning Spanish owning to my personal interest in foreign languages. However, I am keen to utilize my skills further and want to work part time over the weekends. I would like to have a fair knowledge of the opportunities to work as a tutor/translator/interpretter.

You should send your resume to those reputable and global translation companies which you can easily find from a google search. From there, the company will then assign jobs to you. Although u will earn lesser as they get a cut, but you will save time looking for our own assignments.
