I’m looking for the Septuagint translation of Deut 24:1. Is there a good way to find this online?
Thanks. I’m not looking for quick answers, but my prof wants us to use the Septuagint and didn’t tell us where or how to find that for our word study. It’s a little frustrating.

My source link is quite adequate as far as getting the meaning is concerned. It’s not a literal translation, though; I wouldn’t want to help you cheat in Greek class.

I Would like to have a buttom on my yahoo toolbar,that when I point into English word translate to Spanish.How I can do this?

Go to Google and type in the word Babel fish. This will take you to a site where there is an automatic translator. This little translator will have a button that will let you put this on your Yahoo toolbar. It looks like a little goldfish. By the way, it will let you translate into and out of a lot of languages besides Spanish and English. I wouldn’t be without it!

Hi my friends and i are doing a project for history class and we were chosen as the middle-eastern group (by the teacher). If we can say a couple of words in a foreign language we would get extra credit, does anyone know of an online web translator that translates English to Arabic with English text for example (this is the only word i know in Arabic) "Marhabbah" – hello

I read a lot of places online, that I can’t PROOVE to you at this moment, but, I read that its not possible to work with Sign Language in the US ARMY.

I have never heard of Sign Language specialists in the Army. That doesn’t mean they don’t exist, but I would probably have heard of it.

You could join the Army for any other job, then use your Tuition Assistance while you are serving, and your GI Bill money once your finish, to pay for sign language classes.

Many people complete their education this way.

I go to Thornhill School, and I am in year 9. I have fun at school, and the best thing about it is seeing my friends. The teachers are alll nice and my favoirate subject is french. The worst thing about school is the canteen food.

I am a freelance translator, I work online only, for spcial circumstances, so I need to register to agencies that need Arabic to English or English to Arbic translation.

I am currently in the revision stage of a fantasy novel manuscript. In it, I have several places where people speak a made-up language. My question is, how do I correctly address this in manuscript form? As it is, I currently have it written in this format: "made-up language goes here, (followed by translation here)" but that was more a means to get through the writing process. Is there an agreed upon format for something like this?

1. Write a novel that has at least 80,000-180,000 words. Make sure to have it in Times New Roman, size 12, aligned left, and double spaced with your name, title, and page number as the header of each page.

2. Once you finish your novel, put it away for a few weeks or months. Then, unexpectedly go back to your finished manuscript and begin to edit it till you can no longer edit. Make sure it contains no spelling, grammar, or punctuation mistakes.

3. Have your trusted friends and family members read your story and gain advice for them. Ask them questions like did you enjoy it? What could I improve? Etc.

4. Begin searching for a literary agent. An agent is a person who will guide you through the business of publishing. He or she will only take about 15% of your profits you make from your book. Remember that agents are optional but they’re your key to helping you gain more success as you are new to the craft.

5. After you’ve found several (at least 10-15), begin writing a query letter. A query letter is a letter in which you use as a selling tool to your choice of agent. Tell them about yourself (credits and recognitions in writing) and about your book. Include contact information. If you are sending your query at the same time to several agents (recommended that you do), then make sure to include at the bottom of your query paper that you have a multiple submission.

6. Wait for a reply. You will get rejected several times so continue to edit your story and send out better queries. Once you catch someone’s interest, they will ask for your manuscript. Give it to them with a cover letter.

7. If more than one would like to represent you after they’ve read your manuscript, pick which one you think will help most and let the others know that you’ve selected your agent.

8. The agents will search editors and publishers for you. Soon, you’ll have contracts to sign and your book will be sent in the process of publishing.

9. Remember that you DO NOT pay anything to the agents or publishers unless it’s for postage. Use the Writer’s Market book to help you with queries, finding agents, and other things. THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT BOOK AND IT IS THE BEST SOURCE TO USE WHEN YOU WANT TO PUBLISH! GET IT! Good luck!

I’m into latin, and after I type "I am sick" it came up "Ego Sum Infirmus" and when I translate that into english it came up "I to be not strong" and when I translate that into latin it came "EGO ut exsisto infirmus" which means "I when to emerge not strong"

and that was intertran, is there any good translator ONLINE! that have things like latin and whatnot and can translate it without using a bunch of nonsenses

There isn`t really a "good" online translator. You will almost always get bad quality translations from websites, especially when it comes to languages, like Latin, that have complex grammar.

Your best bet would be to look on job websites etc and be specific about what job you are searching for, I am studying french and italian and i know by reading articles that people who have some kind of language qualification are paid at least 5% more than the same job for someone without languages. It also depends obviously on what job you go for as for example teaching and journalism are different and could be paid differently.
Also the supply for linguists are low and the demand high so that is an advantage for seeking a job as the pay would be higher also. Translating isnt easy and I know for French people can be paid 20+ it really depends on the company etc. Good luck with your job searching, i hope you find what you are looking for!
